About | Blog

Acrobatic Dance, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.

Acro is an especially challenging style for dancers to master as training in both dance and acrobatic elements is required. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength.

Our aim at LA Dance Acro is to provide dancers with safe and effective conditioning, strengthening and flexibility exercises that will improve posture, increase fitness and strength and develop their dance potential.

We strive to give dancers confidence in their ability by teaching them fun and challenging classes where they will learn fantastic Dance and Acro skills that will enhance their technique and impress their teachers, examiners and audiences!

The Coaches

Angela Routledge and Lisa Bailey

Angela, an ex-professional dancer, Pilates instructor and RAD Ballet teacher and Lisa an accountant, trained dancer and fitness enthusiast, both completed their training with 'Acrobatic Arts' in Spring 18 and are now fully certified teachers.

We launched LA Dance Acro in April 2018 for dancers aged 8-12 yrs who were interested in adding Acrobatics to their current dance training. We have had such a great time teaching these dancers and have seen some amazing results already! From increased flexibility to improved cartwheels and some have already achieved their back hand springs and Aerials.

We are really looking forward to expanding to all age groups, starting our new pre school programme and of course seeing how much more we can achieve with our fabulous, energetic and hardworking dancers this term.
